Introducing a new Wetzel’s Pretzels outlet in an Illinois Macy’s store was made possible by Daintry McFadden with the support of the brand’s Access to Equity Plan. During this segment of the Restaurant Operator Podcast, Mandy Detwiler engages in a conversation with McFadden regarding the program and its advantages.

During this installment of the Restaurant Operator Podcast, Mandy Detwiler, the editor of Pizza Marketplace and QSRweb, converses with Daintry McFadden, a Wetzel’s Pretzels franchise holder who inaugurated her initial unit at a Macy’s store in Oakbrook, Illinois, back in December 2023.

Commencing her franchise venture with the help of the Wetzel’s Pretzels’ Access to Equity program, which fosters opportunities for minority and female franchisees. McFadden shared that “(Wetzel’s Pretzels) aims to expand participation in their franchise initiative, providing a great opening for me.” The Access to Equity program furnishes royalty concessions and diminished franchisee charges to the franchise holders.

Furthermore, McFadden was able to secure a loan for equipment through the Access to Equity program.

“As a result, I am the sole proprietor of the Wetzel’s Pretzels at Macy’s, and I am truly enthusiastic about this prospect,” expressed McFadden.
