The Elantra N, Hyundai’s most thrilling compact sports sedan, revealed a more defined aesthetic at the recent 2023 Shanghai car event. Its debut under the name Hyundai Avante N in the South Korean market hints at a globally consistent design for the United States-bound Elantra N.

Aligning with the standard 2024 Elantra’s facelift launched in February, the Hyundai Elantra N flaunts a similar reform. The primary enhancements focus on the front end, including new headlights, grille, and front apron. The headlights now feature a sleeker, crisper, and more horizontal design. They no longer extend as far into the front fenders, resulting in a cleaner appearance. A subtle trim linking the headlights together adds cohesion to the overall look. Hyundai also raised the front apron, reducing the prominence of the grille. In an era of expanding grilles, this adjustment provides a refreshing change of pace.

Hyundai also introduced novel wheels for the Elantra N, resembling the cloverleaf design of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. These new wheels convey a less complex appearance compared to the pre-facelift models.

Although no specific specifications were disclosed during the Shanghai presentation, it is presumed that there were no mechanical alterations with this update. Enthusiasts can likely anticipate the continuation of the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 276 horsepower and 289 pound-feet of torque. The transmission selections are expected to remain the same, including the six-speed manual and eight-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Although the brand did not reveal the interior at the event, previous patterns suggest that minimal changes will be made to the cabin, similar to the updates seen in the 2024 Avante.

Prior to the facelift, the Hyundai Elantra N already offered a compelling package with its lively performance, agile handling, and diverse transmission options. The latest visual enhancements add a more contemporary and sophisticated touch.
