For those seeking to boost the track performance of their mid-engine Porsche, there is now a fresh factory-endorsed alternative to ponder. Manthey Racing has collaborated with Porsche to create a new package for the impressive 718 Cayman GT4 RS, now accessible in the United States.

To further enhance the car’s capability to dominate a circuit, the package features aerodynamic components that nearly double the downforce at 124 mph (372 pounds compared to the standard 196); essential carbon fiber reinforcements in the engine cover for balance; an additional rear wing setting (four instead of the standard three); steel brake lines; and optional towing loops. A specialized inverted coilover configuration 20% firmer at the front was crafted specifically for track use, with four adjustable settings. Both rebound and compression are adjustable without the need for tools.

However, the most noticeable upgrade would likely be the turbofan-style rear wheel attachment that unmistakably signals to every other Porsche enthusiast at the track day that you are Serious Business.

Equipped with these Manthey enhancements, Jörg Bergmeister completed a lap of the Nürburgring in 7:02.121 last year, surpassing the standard GT4 RS by six seconds. A six-second improvement around the ‘Ring is substantial, and so is the price of the package. It will cost you $53,946 before installation, and for those truly inclined to spend more, an additional $5,890 grants you front fender louvers and a rear gurney flap made of carbon fiber that can increase rear axle downforce by up to 4%. This package can be purchased and installed at Porsche dealerships.

If you are not among the fortunate GT4 RS owners, you still have the opportunity to try out the Manthey-enhanced Cayman at Porsche’s Experience Centers in Atlanta or L.A.—for a fee, naturally.

In its standard non-Manthey form, the 2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is equipped with a 493-horsepower, 4.0-liter flat-six engine and starts at $162,350.
