Have you ever witnessed an unfortunate event where a rare, 769-horsepower Lamborghini hypercar had a mishap? Well, it wasn’t me, but someone definitely did. A Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae from 2022 has been listed on a Copart auction near Atlanta. This particular model, known as the pinnacle edition of the Aventador series, met its unfortunate fate with just 1,064 miles on the clock. What a heartbreaking sight.

The vehicle exhibits significant damage across multiple sections. Copart’s description of the harm is quite explicit, stating it as “ALL OVER.” The majority of the rear body panels, including both taillights, seem to have vanished. Moreover, the rear wheels are devoid of their tires, with one appearing markedly misshapen. It’s challenging to ascertain the exact nature of the collision this car endured, but the aftermath clearly indicates a severe impact. This is not a case where the inquiry revolves around why the car was deemed totaled, but rather, it’s about how.

The initial selling price of Aventador Ultimaes hovered around half a million dollars, officially. However, securing one at that price now would be a daunting task—an honest piece of advice for the discerning consumer. Surprisingly, this damaged specimen currently boasts a bidding price of $221,000.00, and the reserve price is yet to be met. The auction still has over a week remaining.

The listing mentions that the car comes with its keys and remains both drivable and operational. While the latter claim may seem improbable, given the likely severe damage to the rear suspension and half shafts, the 6.5-liter V12 engine might still be functional. There’s a slim possibility that this vehicle could be salvageable, but it’s uncertain. Without a thorough assessment of the frame, it’s impossible to decipher if the visible destruction extends to structural components beyond the surface level. While the prospect of acquiring replacement body panels and components directly from Lamborghini appears excessively cumbersome, the notion of dismantling such a rare car also feels somewhat unsettling.

This instance is not the sole case of an impaired Ultimae vehicle we have come across. Previously, we reported on an incident involving a hotel valet colliding one Ultimae with another. Even though that accident was less severe than the current one, it appears that the most exclusive and powerful variant of this car has not been immune to accidents.

The auction concludes at 10 a.m. on May 19. If you possess a substantial sum to invest in damaged luxury vehicles auctioned by Copart, perhaps consider participating.
