No one in their right mind would describe the Lamborghini Huracan as “slow.” This supercar weighs 3,400 pounds and is equipped with a 5.2-liter V-10 engine that generates a minimum of 572 horsepower. Thanks to its all-wheel drive, a rapid dual-clutch transmission, and an intuitive launch control system, the Huracan 610-4 can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a mere 2.5 seconds, eventually reaching a maximum speed of 202 miles per hour.
However, the tuning experts at Underground Racing are not bound by conventional thinking. Their clients, who willingly invest substantial amounts to elevate their Lamborghinis to astonishing power levels, also embrace this audacious mindset. A prime example is a red Huracan boasting an astounding 1,800 horsepower, owned by a man named Mohammed. He brought this powerhouse to the WannaGoFast half-mile racing event in North Carolina on May 21st to test its capabilities.
The V-10 engine has been meticulously enhanced, yet the dual-clutch gearbox remains stock, albeit with custom clutches. The Huracan’s dual-clutch transmission has previously demonstrated its ability to manage significant power, and this modified Lamborghini did not disappoint. Under the skilled control of driver Kevin Howeth, Mohammed’s UR Huracan achieved a remarkable 222 miles per hour in just half a mile. While it may not be the fastest half-mile run for a Huracan, the achievement is certainly impressive..
