Chris Boyette, a tuner from Chris’s Epic Tuning Service in the Detroit area, identifies as a specialist in Honda’s J series, boasting 12 years of experience in EFI tuning. His expertise is prominently featured in his twin-turbo Honda S2000, which he claims to be the first of its kind in the world.
In this striking teal S2000, Boyette replaces the original F-series inline-four engine with a J32A2 3.2-liter V6, a powerplant that was initially used in the Type-S versions of the Acura CL and TL during the early 2000s. In its stock configuration, this rev-friendly SOHC VTEC V6 generates 260 horsepower at 6200 rpm and delivers 232 foot-pounds of torque.
While that power is typically sufficient to enhance the S2000’s performance, Boyette sought even more. He incorporated two turbochargers, modified the heads, and installed MGP aluminum rods along with CP low-compression pistons, as reported by Engine Swap Depot. This extensively modified V6 is paired with a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission and a Ford 8.8-inch rear end.
The pair of turbochargers generates an impressive 45 psi of boost, propelling the vehicle to a speed of 168.87 miles per hour and allowing it to complete a quarter-mile in just 7.954 seconds. Boyette asserts that this powerhouse produces nearly 1,000 horsepower at the wheels, and with such extreme boost levels, it’s hard to dispute his claim.
