Jamie Swaim Joins Torc Robotics as Chief People Officer, Bringing Over Two Decades of HR Experience
BLACKSBURG, Va. – Oct. 1, 2024 – Torc Robotics, an independent subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG and a frontrunner in the development of self-driving vehicle technology, has announced the appointment of Jamie Swaim as its new Chief People Officer. In this capacity, Swaim will collaborate closely with Torc’s People Operations team and executive leadership to manage talent throughout the employee lifecycle, from initial hiring to retirement.
In her role, Swaim will promote and enhance the company culture, prioritizing employee wellbeing, engagement, and motivation during this critical period for the organization. Additionally, she will act as a trusted advisor to Torc’s leadership on all matters related to human resources and will oversee growth forecasts and recruitment efforts to advance Torc’s initiatives in autonomous trucking.

With over 20 years in human resources, Swaim has extensive experience in talent management and HR support. Before joining Torc, she founded an advisory firm, Parcel, which assisted businesses in enhancing their HR capabilities. She also served as Head of Human Resources at Farm Credit-Mid America for nearly ten years, where she played a significant role in the organization’s rapid growth, increasing assets to over $30 billion, and implemented transformative changes that greatly improved employee engagement. Swaim is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and a Professional in Human Resources by HRCI. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a focus on Human Resources Management from Western Kentucky University.
