Adrian Newey, the mastermind behind Red Bull’s Formula 1 designs, has introduced his latest project that is available for purchase. For a sum of $5 million, you can indulge in a one-of-a-kind experience, as the RB17 hypercar from Red Bull promises to deliver Formula 1-level performance in a package that caters to a wider audience without the need for a Super License.
The RB17 has been meticulously crafted to navigate racetracks in the most efficient manner possible, drawing upon Newey’s wealth of experience. Every shape on the car has been carefully sculpted to maximize downforce while minimizing drag. It boasts features such as F1-style side pods, in-board active suspension, and a blown diffuser.
The RB17 is reminiscent of the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro, albeit a more extreme iteration. It spans over 5 meters in length and 2 meters in width. Red Bull aims for a weight of approximately 900 kg and generating 1700 kg of downforce at 150 mph.
Under the hood of the RB17 lies a 4.5-liter V10 engine developed by Cosworth, capable of revving up to 15,000 rpm and producing 986 hp. Furthermore, there is a 197 hp electric motor to assist with torque delivery at lower speeds. The car features an in-house-designed and assembled transmission that ensures instantaneous gear shifts, echoing the performance of an F1 vehicle.
The dynamic debut of the Red Bull RB17 is scheduled for the summer of 2025.
