Nearly three years ago, professional skier and car enthusiast Jon Olsson lost his 1,000-horsepower Audi RS6 Avant, which was stolen and accidentally destroyed in a fire during a film shoot. Fortunately, Olsson had sold the vehicle prior to the incident, but he missed the powerful wagon. German tuning company ABT stepped in to create a new one for him.
The ABT RS6+ “Phoenix” is a unique build designed specifically for the skier, featuring one of Olsson’s iconic camouflage wraps, which are a trademark of all his custom cars. This design, known as “split camo,” displays a black driver’s side and white passenger side.
In terms of visual enhancements, the vehicle showcases ABT’s carbon fiber front lip, front skirt, rear spoiler, side skirts, rear skirts, wheel arches, and mirror caps, along with tinted windows and prototype wheels that were tailor-made for Olsson’s ride.
Project Phoenix delivers an impressive performance with 735 horsepower and 679 pound-feet of torque, which is over a 100-horsepower increase compared to the stock RS6 Avant. The custom sports exhaust system amplifies the roar from the vehicle’s robust twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which can be heard in Olsson’s latest vlog.
This car is a variant of the RS6+, which consists of 50 modified RS6 Avant Performances, each tuned to produce 705 horsepower. However, this specific model is a one-of-a-kind creation that Olsson participated in designing and constructing himself. “Working with Jon Olsson was a significant challenge for our ABT Individual team,” commented Hans-Jürgen Abt, CEO of ABT Sportsline. “It has once again shown our capability to meet even the highest expectations from our clients.”
We look forward to watching the alpine skier enjoy his new, two-tone super wagon, but knowing Olsson, he will likely come up with an even more extravagant car soon.
