Lamborghini’s professional motorsports division, Squadra Corse, is on the lookout for promising young drivers to join its esteemed GT3 Youth and Young Drivers Programs. The selected participants will undergo training to compete in GT Series races and will also represent Lamborghini as brand ambassadors.
Recently, Lamborghini has chosen over 40 passionate racing enthusiasts to join its training initiative, which kicked off with its first session in June. The second session is scheduled to begin in October. Trainees will spend extensive hours at the Imola Autodrome, honing their skills behind the wheel of the Huracan Super Trofeo and Huracan GT3 cars.
According to Squadra Corse, being a professional Lamborghini driver involves more than just track performance, which is why the training program is built around four main “pillars.”
The first pillar focuses on providing recruits with the opportunity to assist in the continued development of the Huracan and its racing variants. Trainees will collaborate with technicians from Pirelli and Lamborghini to test the vehicles, utilizing driver feedback and lap data to enhance their performance on the track.
The second component centers on athletic conditioning; each recruit will work with personal trainers to prepare physically for racing. Their fitness routines include rigorous cardio workouts, upper-body strength training, and exercises designed to enhance reflexes and overall mental toughness for endurance racing. One notable exercise involves cycling, as trainees must complete laps on bicycles around the Imola race track each morning.
To effectively serve as brand ambassadors, participants will travel to Sant’Agata Bolognese, where they will learn about Lamborghini’s values and history at the Lamborghini Museum. They will be required to familiarize themselves with the specifications and details of the entire Lamborghini model lineup.
The final goal of the program is to cultivate the most talented recruits to become instructors at Accademia, Lamborghini’s prestigious driving school. This opportunity is reserved for those who demonstrate exceptional skills in the earlier training pillars.
This marks the fourth iteration of Lamborghini’s youth development program, offering a dream opportunity for any motorsports enthusiast..
