Hyundai’s N performance sub-brand is set to welcome a brand-new halo car, as confirmed by a high-ranking executive during a recent interview.

In a conversation with AutoRAI.nl, Thomas Schemera, the executive vice president of Hyundai’s high-performance division and motorsport sector, disclosed that plans for a new high-speed model are underway. This model is currently in the initial stages of development, leaving the specifics about its design and target market unconfirmed. However, Schemera hinted at an exciting surprise from the brand.

For months, there has been speculation surrounding the creation of a special edition, high-performance sports car under the N branding. The confirmation of this flagship model has fueled curiosity regarding its features. It is anticipated that the vehicle will be a two-seater sports car, and it will likely employ advanced electric hybrid technology.

“Behind the scenes, we are diligently developing a ‘halo model’ to serve as the flagship for the N brand. This car will be something extraordinary—something people wouldn’t typically expect from Hyundai, truly exotic,” Schemera noted in his interview with AutoRAI.nl.

While specific details remain under wraps, there is a strong possibility that the new halo car will resemble the RM16 N concept, as indicated by Schemera during the interview.

“We cannot confirm or deny whether it will be a limited edition, but we do know it will fit within the super sports segment. If you think of the Hyundai RM16, you’ll get an idea of what we have in store,” he explained.

Although the lack of detailed information may be a strategy to generate excitement, it seems to be effective. While the prospect of a new N model is thrilling, it may be a few years before actual production begins.
