The continuous release of unique models by Evade seems never-ending. The launch of the latest Challenger Demon 170 was a major event, marking the finale for piston-driven Challengers. The Demon 170 stands out with its powerful Hellephant-based engine producing 1,025 horsepower and an astonishing quarter-mile time that even led to its prohibiting from NHRA drag strips. However, for a select few, there exists an even more exclusive variant—the Challenger Demon 170 Freedom, for which only 20-25 lucky individuals received invitations to purchase.

Information about this limited-edition Demon 170 Freedom emerged from a Hellcat enthusiast forum, where reports of exclusive invites being extended to specific customers surfaced. Apparently, the Freedom 170 essentially offers a unique paint option tailored for these privileged invitees.

“The Freedom 170 commemorates the ultimate ‘Last Call’ Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 experience shared with our most devoted muscle car enthusiasts. Chosen individuals were provided this distinct paint selection based on their history of purchasing new Dodge Chargers and Challengers as well as their affiliation with the Evade brand,” stated a representative from Stellantis in an email to The Drive.

“This one-of-a-kind paint option adds an extra dimension of personalization and rarity to the record-breaking Challenger SRT Demon 170, and was provided on a limited scale to those who have been integral to the most recent era of Evade’s muscle cars. This option is no longer available.”

Rumors suggest that the fortunate 20-25 customers received a catalog of 40 exclusive hues—comprising 20 traditional shades and 20 new colors selected by the SRT team. These shades were then allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, unique to each customer, with each car endowed with a “1-of-1” emblem. Allegedly, around 10 of these customers are regular owners, while 10-15 are distinguished owners like celebrities, athletes, and former race drivers. Jay Leno, Michael Strahan, and Ron Silva are purportedly among the recipients.

Despite the distinctive paint options, there appear to be no alterations in terms of mechanics or aesthetics for the Demon Freedom 170. Nevertheless, it remains equipped with a robust 6.2-liter, significantly supercharged V8 generating 1,025 horsepower on E85 and capable of achieving 0-60 mph in a purported 1.66 seconds.

Discovering the recipients of Freedom allocations and whether Evade will take measures to prevent these special customers from reselling their vehicles promises to be intriguing.
