At the 2019 Houston Auto Show, Ram introduced a new variant of its recently launched Ram Heavy Duty: the Laramie Longhorn Edition. This pickup truck embodies a vibrant Southwestern theme, reminiscent of both the powerful flow of the Rio Grande and the bold fashion sense of “Walker Texas Ranger,” who famously drove a Ram.

This newly designed truck aims to enhance the standard Laramie trim, which already includes a wealth of luxurious features like soft leather and aluminum accents. The Longhorn Edition elevates this experience with the inclusion of real wood throughout the cabin, full-grain leather seating, satin warm-chrome accents, and brushed-nickel metal badges. The word “Longhorn” is elegantly embossed on a wooden strip above the glove compartment, mimicking cattle branding. As a unique touch, the center console, instrument panel, seats, and door panel inserts are adorned with an alligator skin-embossed surface.

While the Laramie Longhorn’s interior upgrades focus on delivering a first-class experience for Texas cowboys, the truck’s exterior design has also received significant enhancements. The front grille and LED adaptive headlights are surrounded by a generous amount of chrome, and the stylish treatment extends to the tow hooks, wheel flares, and side steps.

The Laramie Longhorn Edition offers a selection of trim-specific, single or dual-tone exterior colors accompanied by distinctive wheel designs, all featuring the classic belt-buckle badging that characterizes this line.

Under the hood, this truck maintains the robust engines available in the standard 2500 and 3500 models. The powerful 6.7-liter V8 Cummins turbodiesel engine boasts 400 horsepower and an impressive 1,000 pound-feet of torque. The gasoline Hemi option, a 6.4-liter V8, delivers 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Both engine options provide flexibility with single or dual-rear-wheel configurations.

Pricing details have yet to be announced, but the Ram Heavy Duty is anticipated to be available for purchase later this year..
