Subaru has revealed the pricing for the 2018 WRX and WRX STI ahead of their arrival in dealerships this spring, with the WRX starting at $26,995 and the WRX STI at $36,095. More details available here.
Although the 2018 WRX does not see an increase in horsepower—the performance remains at 268 hp, generated by its 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine—it is now offered with a new Performance Package. This package, however, does not enhance the power output, costing $2,050 instead. For this price, buyers receive a moonroof-delete feature, a driver’s side 8-way power adjustable Recaro seat, and red-painted calipers paired with upgraded Jurid brake pads. The WRX is equipped with a standard six-speed manual transmission, but a continuously variable transmission (CVT) option is available for those who prefer it.
In a similar vein, the power of the 2018 WRX STI remains unchanged from the previous version, retaining 305 hp from its 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-four engine. The new STI will feature upgraded Brembo brakes, consisting of six-piston front calipers and two-piston rear calipers, which are finished in yellow. However, a notable change that may disappoint fans is the removal of fog lights from this model.
The highest-priced WRX STI is pegged at $41,755, making it a significant investment for a Subaru. Nonetheless, few vehicles in the market can match the versatility and capability offered by these remarkable cars.
